Chick Chick Chickens

The great thing about living in the country part time is that whenever you want to see how to truly live rurally then just hop on over to a neighbors.

Such a lucky day to have sweet friends who invited us and my sister in law and her kids over to check out their brand new chicken coop.  The chicken coop above is for the hens who lay eggs.  There is another one for their little baby chicks that they will grow to eat.

All the kids had a great time examining the poultry.

However I’m not so sure the hens enjoyed the voyeurism.

This little hot momma made her intentions quite clear that she would like to lay her eggs in peace thankyouverymuch.

Here we are peeking in on the action.

Harrrump!

Then my friend, Becca, decides to hand over dinner rolls for us to toss to the chickens.

“Look momma I found a feather!”  Always lots to find on a farm, including a random dirt mark on her forehead.

Honestly I think that the hardest part will be when it is time to take those poor chickens and process them for what they were intended to be.  Food.

But this is the cycle of life.
